Our format is designed to assist the Breeder in canine reporduction and registration, while maintaining purity of the breed. It is not necessary to register a litter. Simply use one application per puppy.
The procedure is simple:
For a new Pet:
1st Sell your puppy.
2nd Fill out the registration form.
3rd Have the Customer, name the pet,
fill in their name and address, sign the form
and the Customer mails the form to PKCA with the fee of $20.00
For Transferring Ownership:
1st Turn the permanent registration certificate over and
complete the transfer data section of the form,
2nd Have both the new and former owner sign the form as indicated,
3rd Then the new owner mails transfer information along with the $15.00 fee to PKCA
and PKCA will issue new papers to the new owner.
Other information:
If your breeding stock is represented by other registries, even if the sire is papered in one registry and the dam in a different registry, we recognize these registries and will issue offspring registration. Of course, we prefer the parents to be registered with PKCA..., but is is not required.
How to register a purebred you have no papers for:
This is called a Qualifying Registration
1st Fill out an application with the information available,
2nd Take a picture of the pet, and then
3rd Send both to PKCA with a fee of $20 and a Qualifying registration
will be issued after the board has reviewed the application.
Dual Registry
PKCA offers an opportunity to register a canine who has already been registered in another registry. The other registry will be recognized by PKCA. A copy of this information will be used as proof for the purity of the breed. By making a copy of the registry's information, such as puppy papers or registration certificate, the owner can mail that copy with the form listed under Dual Registry, to PKCA and a certificate will be issued. The canine will have a dual registration. Dual registration is a free service by PKCA for now. Future cost may dictate charging a small fee.
